The road to Long Lake is on the east side of the river (opposite the city) It runs high into the cliffs, with switchback turns and high sides that have no guard rails. Sure wouldn't want to miss a turn, oh my my, no no no! The lake itself is very beautiful and today, all sunny and gorgeous, there were people out canoeing and fishing. A crazy little prairie dog ran about in front of us but I didn't get my camera out in time. Fortunately two more were cavorting along the roadside on the way back.
