DA PIG SHE ROASTED FINE!!!!

Pig Roast supreme! Rock and Roll and Bluegrass and other.... man oh man, wonderful fun! It had the total spirit of Stanfest about it from the first, with the sound man in the back and a light show to boot. Considering that it doesn't get dark till almost 11 pm, the lights seemed superfluous until Velvet appeared.

Remember that name... Velvet (of the Yukon!! Discovered by a campfire somewhere off the grid. True Story!!!!

All the bands were exceptional and of course, our own Emily Younker and Mike Trainor were absolutely fabulous! That's Colin with them, he was one of the hosts of this shindig.

The whole evening was a raving success. This is the 3rd year for the Pig Roast and I was honoured to be attending this budding event which is so obviously going places. Woodstock eat your heart out! In a very few years I'm going to be able to say I was there back when they just started this world re-knowned festival in Whitehorse. People will flock to the Yukon like the do to Canso. It's the highest praise I can give. And Debbie Y was Rockin down!!!! JS Video to come!

Can't say much more. The pig was delicious. I thought it was a fun (though slightly cynical) touch to have a couple of baby pigs for the kids to pat in the back corner. ha ha ha! A little sadistic for the piggies who were shivering under the straw by the end of the night, having seen/smelt/watched their future before their eyes.

A good time was had by all! :)

  1. She tell no lie. It was all that and a plate of pork!
Debbie Y did rock down... and out of the corner of my eye I saw the Merigomish Girl herself shakin' what her mama gave her!
Even though I've spent the last few days with you, Rob... and even though there are pictures to prove it... as I look at them... I still find it a bit surreal that it is indeed YOU who is here to share a piece of time, laughs and memories with. Bring on Alaska!... is next!
*Did I mention that I'm glad you're here?*
